    Hi Doug,

Our Winnie is long gone, but we have had troubles with the same type furnace on our 1995 and 1999 Safari Treks. I actually removed the furnace and took it to our local dealer where, naturally, it worked fine, then gave trouble later. The service manager recommended cleaning the electrical contacts to the circuit board, but this didn't work. I read on IRV2 that some dealers have a "circuit board tester", (which sounds like a way to sell new circuit boards). I removed the furnace again, and the circuit board tested bad. With some trepidation, I bought a new circuit board, and the furnace has worked correctly ever since. I bought a circuit board from the local dealer, but Dinosaur electronics is supposed to have good products for lower prices.

    Hope this helps...

George. Just bought a 1983 winni cheifton. Saw that you used to have one. Question on the furnace. I only have one of the three batteries in now. When plugged in at a campsite, should it still light or would this prevent that from working. Have gas to the stove, blower comes on, electric pilot sparks but it will not ignight. Also, does level ground have anything to do with it? There is a level bubble under the thermostat. Thanks
