So sorry I haven't seen your comments. I didn't even know it existed. You didn't say what year your 33 GKE is, but the guy you mentioned is "workshop". I've been to his home in FL and he does magnificent stuff. He doesn't own an Excel anymore. He has an Alpenlite 5th wheel. His old unit is much older than yours so much is different in your rig. He does give some good info for sure. Anyhow here is the thread that you may be talking about.

As a recent owner of a new to me 33 GKE, I greatly appreciate all the helpful comments you’ve added to the board. I’m trying to relocate a series from another gentleman who had performed extensive work on his Excel. I’m not able to find it when I search. It was a thread from 2008 or so and had sections about rebuilding a slide, and a basement door. Any help is greatly appreciated.
