I am about to order a base plate for my 2015 Mini Cooper 4 door 6 spd manual. Was reading posts about using Mini as a toad. Your mention of getting 11 MPG is amazing. We are running 39' 2008 Pathfinder (Freightliner, 300HP Cummins), pulling a Jeep Grand Cherokee at about 4,000 lbs. We also carry a 1300cc motorcycle on a lift on back of camper (lift + bike at about 1000 lb.). We average about 9 MPG and are looking forward to towing a lighter car!
