Hi. My 1st time on this site. We have a 2014 Tiffin Allegro 36' gas V10 Ford engine. It HAD 33,000 miles on it. The oil was changed regularly and always faithfully serviced. We had a complete pre trip inspection done and all ready to go. Our engine blew up on our recent trip. No one in the area worked on RV's so even though we have premier RV towing with AAA we had to tow it to Cedar City, the nearest RV mechanic we could find. No one could figure out why this happened. "sometimes these things just happen, a rod, or ????? blah, blah, blah" Anyway after a $1500 tow bill that AAA will not cover and a new engine in excess of $23,000 we have our RV. This is a difficult situation for a disabled Vietnam Veteran. We contacted Tiffin who referred us back to Ford, whom we had already contacted. Ford says unless the engine has a recall nothing can be done for us. We were also told by several mechanics the V10 is not a big enough engine on these motorhomes and it's quite common.
