Sorry I just found the message you sent me asking for details about losing our bike. Not sure why I didn't see it.

We were amazed that we lost our Yamaha V-Star 650 classic since we had carried it for 3 years without incident all over the country. We always check the tie downs every time we stop for a break and the last time we had checked them they were fine. We were headed to a work assignment in New Jersey, down I-78 and went over a really BIG hop going onto a bridge area. Immediately after the hop I heard a grinding sound and looked in side mirror and saw bike sliding on highway behind us...being dragged by the tie downs. As soon as we pulled off, the tie downs released from the lift and the bike was left in the lane.

If you get a Hydralift I would recommend putting sometime of large U bolt through the rim and secure to the lift. This would hold it to the lift and the "hops" would not affect it.

Feel free to e-mail me if you need more info..lindaxtwo@hotmail.com

    Good Luck !!
