Hey Gary, Gotta give you a update. Boy was I shocked to find out that I did not have the 8 lug rim but a 10 lug so it was not going to fit on the RV. So like you I had a hard time finding a 8 lug rim for the RV that was not a silly price. They are on line for over 300.00 bucks in aluminum. I wanted like you a steel 8 lug. But after lifting that tire and rim I was shocked at the weight. So I guess the aluminum was not a bad idea after all if you want to go that way. But in the meantime I cut the 10 lug rim in less than half and plan to mount it on my homemade tire carrier. Then just use it to hang a tire on so if I need a tire I have the right size. Most big tire service trucks that come to change your tire can also mount a tire. But finding the right size tire in a small town in the middle of nowhere is another thing. If ya want to e mail me jkoska3786@comcast.net I can send you pics of the mount I made. Hope this helps.

Hey Gary sorry I just checked my comments and saw this. So better late than never I guess. Anyway I built my spare tire mount, I went to a Semi Truck tire store and ordered a tire matching the tire size on my RV. I also ordered a steel rim from them. I picked it up after thet mounted and balanced it. Comforting to know it is there.

Sure Gary I would be happy to assist you any way I can. I been working on my remodel for 4 years now. I have come to realize you never get finished. LOL. But I keep telling my wife it is just about done.
