I upgraded the converter to a 4 stage.
If I were doing it again, I would probably just leave the old converter in, but just unhook it. That way, if I ever sell the Mirada, I could remove the 4 stage and reconnect the original/

The 4 stage has a couple advantages.
1) When recharging, i.e. running the genny to recharge the battery, it will go into a full boost mode and charge the batter very quickly.
2) When sitting in storage and plugged in, it goes into low mode and doesn't boil the battery. . I leave the Mirada plugged in at home (storage) and after 6 months, I checked the batteries and they were not low on fluid or bulged.
