The snow roof I used is holding up great but I have been told it is hard to find in some places. I did notice that Henery's, a brand that the local Home Depot stocks is making an elastomeric roofing. Around vents and plumbing some people really like eterna bond. This comes in a roll and sticks down really good on clean surfaces. Whatever you do DON'T use silicone products. They leave a slippery film that nothing else sticks to, not even more silicone. I think a great thing to do is find an old RV shop with someone who has worked on MH's for years. They know how to fix everything from our old heaters and toilets to the roof. This has saved me a lot of money. Good luck and I might be on the road without internet but I check in often when I can. We really use our '73.

Well I might not be the one to answer a question about a tranny for a '71 but you have found out about the parking brake on the tranny. I would think the parking brake on the tranny was used on Dodge pickups/trucks for a few years. There is a difference between small blocks (318) and big blocks (413/440) tranny's. From what I know a 727 is just a 3 speed and some 4 speed tranny's will work. I think something like a 504? Guess you need to talk with a vintage Dodge person.
