So sorry I haven't seen your comments. I didn't even know it existed. You didn't say what year your 33 GKE is, but the guy you mentioned is "workshop". I've been to his home in FL and he does magnificent stuff. He doesn't own an Excel anymore. He has an Alpenlite 5th wheel. His old unit is much older than yours so much is different in your rig.
