That's an excellent question - probably a good one for an engineer at Entegra. I would hope the wood used is dried to a point that will minimize future shrinkage. As I recall KD studs you buy at the lumber yard are about 13% moisture and when laying say a hardwood floor in your house you want the wood to be less than that (7 or 8% maybe?). Part of the answer is how the wood they use is stored and if they use engineered material (laminated?) or ordinary pine studs. The plywood is not going to shrink much. Perhaps the nuts would not be accessible after assembly anway? I don't know - if you ever get to the factory that's for sure a good one to ask! Will keep that in mind for future visits. If you get an answer at some point I would love to hear it!
