05-31-2023 07:27 AMLonnie & BonaMy following up questions............1.) Which wire do I disconnect from the "black box" do I disconnect to keep my new lithium batteries from being charged from my alternator. 2.) Specifically what wire do I disconnect from what device so my chassis batteries are no longer charged by shore/generator power. 3. Would you recommend going with a dc to dc charger from my chassis batteries to my Lithium batteries to keep the Lithium properly balanced? We do a lot of boondocking and I'm not sure if my generator will charge the Lithium's 100% using the generator. I may add so solar panels at a later point in time if this systems proves to be workable. I'm taking one step at a time. I appreciated any additional input you may suggest.

05-31-2023 07:26 AMLonnie & BonaI'm replying to your comments on my posting "Coach Solenoid Location.) Here's my set up from the black box: 1.) ground wire goes to the coach solenoid. .) coach bat wire goes to chassis solenoid (along with boost wire which I assume goes to the dash) 3.) ignition wire appears to goes to dash. 4.) relay wire goes to coach solenoid 5.) no wire on the genset terminal. I have read many of your other postings but still have a few questions. If I recall correctly, it may have been you that said to "keep it simple" which is what I intent to do. Here are my questions: See follow up message.....

06-08-2021 10:57 AMSomeDayHello Twinboat,
Forgive the pm but in threads you have been exponential in helping others. We replaced all our battery bank 8 x 6V GC2 batteries with brand new a week ago, and all our 120/110v stuff is working but absolutely nothing on the 12V = no inside lights, no ceiling fans, no water pump/heater etc. However, when the ignition is running it is all on, until 10 seconds after turning ignition off. We have tried with Generator, (that only ignites when ignition on although stays on after ignition turned off), have tried with shore power = so no 12V from shore, generator or battery bank, but when ignition on there is. We are not electrically minded in the slightest but had spent countless hours looking for wires, trying to check fuses and panels and so forth. Can you please guide me in "lay persons" terms what may be causing this issue (inverter working fine and midnite showing good) and where I would locate on our 2003 Fleetwood southwind.
Thanks Twinboat Helen. -
08-12-2020 05:43 AMJorgeSThere are always people that are looking for an argument...the thread on "there is no such thing as a hot water heater" fits so well into this.
I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I think I have decent edge - I was totally confused by people referring to the "salesman switch" and you thread on this was spot on. It took me a while to figure out what people were talking about. I did not simply ask about it, because I figured it would come out, and in time it did.
Although I did not read the silly thread on the heater, it appears that you wisely let them go on - well done!
Thanks for your contributions that newbies like me appreciate. -

10-25-2019 11:39 AMmiloketchumThanks for the comment. We converted to 100% LED lights everywhere inside and even the running lights & headlights. The way we "Boon-dock" is generator running if we need power for anything or all off. All original propane/ammonia/DC/AC appliances have been replaced so nothing runs on DC except a few selective LED lights and sensors. The generator powers the AC appliances and the battery charger. The alternator charges the battery while driving. You were correct to assume that there would be a DC drain. You have given me the opportunity to supply readers with vital information. Thank you again!

03-19-2019 09:14 AMAdventurChikGood morning, we are learning to use this site. I see you're a senior member and have answered several questions. We have a Monaco Diplomat 1999.We are boondocking and we are having inverter problems or gen issues. The gen has been cutting off on us, we can get it started but it will run a few minutes then cut off. The inverter shows its charging but the inverter and the gen shut down. Any suggestions? The gen has fuel and we have new batteries, we're in Virginia

03-17-2015 06:22 PMJohnnyStoneNot sure I understoon your answer on hooking up safety chains to your toad while on a dolly. I have a 2014 Ford Focus and I have a big Demco dolly with chains for the car safety. But I can't find anywhere under that Ford to hook up a safety chain. There is a plastic pan that covers the engine entirely and can't see where to hook up to any frame or front end structure. First time for us to try and hook up this new car. Any ideas please!!
