Just found a stress fracture on my Crossroads 5th wheel at the bedroom slideout. Maybe because we closed to tight or from movement. Its right at the bottom corner. Anyone had any issues like that and if so what is the solution or fix
Thanks
Bob

I have had cracks extending out from the upper corners of my living room slide. I suspect they may have been caused when I hooked up the truck with the slide out, but I do not know I have drilled a small hole at the end of the crack to "safe end" the crack, and covered the crack with a clear sealant.

Are any of you using Slide out stabilizers???
I have heard that those things can cause those type of cracks.

Dang that sucks..better off just entering that makeover contest and see if you can win there haha..heard there even going to add slide outs and repair them.

My friend had stress cracks on the lower
left side of the opening for his bedroom
slide. He took his Holiday Rambler
Alumascape back to the factory and the
removed the siding and braced up the
front of fifer and then put the siding
back. If you look at the construction
of a fifthwheel it's not hard to under
stand where all the stress is. Think
of all the stuff put into the storage
compartment. Now the manufacturers are
locating the Washer/Dryer combos in the
front of the fifthwheel over the Pin.
More problems????

my daughters Wilderness 5th wheel has the same cracks. It has been at the dealers for 6 months for evaluation and hopefully repairs. All they can say so far is "rough roads did it"

I also had a crack on my 2001 Holiday Rambler Presidential Bedroom slide out. I tried everything to stop the cracking even drilling a stop hole, nothing seemed to work. On one of our trips I stopped by the factory to discuss the problem with them. The manager said it was a design flaw that had been fixed the following year.. The corner cutout for the slide outs were at a 90 degree angle and it should have been rounded a little. Apparently if the angle is 90 degrees it is subject to cracking. They pulled it in and fixed it the next day. In fact they found 3 other cracks on different slide outs and fixed them all.

Good Luck on getting yours fixed.
