Brake pedal stuck

Good morning all. The brake pedal on our 1990 Winnebago Chieftain on a ford chassis, will not release the brake, come back to the normal position. I have to pull the pedal up with my toe to to free the brakes. We just bought this and it was sitting for some time without being moved. Any idea's what I should check first? I'm thinking the master cylinder fluid or the linkage? Any other idea's. Thanks in advance.

check all moveable joints between master cylinder and brake pedal. Many times they will rust/corrode and cause the pedal not to return

I don't think you have a master cylinder problem. . Check the pedal return spring and linkage for rust. Spray all linkage points liberally with WD40.

Thanks for the reply's. It's gotta be resolved and the best way is to ask the experts. As soon as it gets a little warmer I'll be out to tackle it.:)

A liberal dose of WD 40 did wonders for the pedal action. I did a couple applications and let it sit for a few hours and works like new. Thanks for the tip.
