Wiper problems

My '06 Diplomat has a wiper problem.

When the drivers side arm moves to the left it looses contact
with the windshield.

The rubber blades are old and stiff but I don't think that is
the whole problem.

I'm sure others have dealt with this.

Any ideas?

So, what your saying is that the blade is raising off the windshield? Sounds like you need new arms besides the blades.

I think you are correct.

Don't (so far) see the mfg's name on the arms or wiper system.

Where might I find that?

Is this a common problem?

Go online and check places like anco or Bosch web site. It should give you a place yo input your info for the correct fit.

I had a similar problem on my Monaco. Both wiper blades were not pressing firmly against the windshield, leaving wide bands of un-wiped area. The blades on mine were the one-piece curved style and the wiper arms were not putting enough pressure on them to keep them firmly on the windshield. I went to O'Reillys and they found my coach in their database and found the correct blades for it. They were very expensive, $39.00 each, but they do a great job! Good luck! :thumb::D

Check out "Snuggies" to add pressure to the wiper arms:
Chrome Windshield Wiper Snuggie (PR) - IOWA80.COM

I am told that Major truck stops have them in chrome an black.

check where the arm bolts to the shaft,; remove the plastic cover look for a crack in the aluminum casting. I had the same problem

Which year and model coach did you put them on?

Approx. how long are they?

Are these meant to be generic, for all models?

Thanks

I believe Snuggies are generic, but I have never used them.
At $4 a pair they might be worth a try.
Next time I see them I will get a pair for my '96 Safari.

the arms on mine have a pivot point with a spring that pulls it into the windshield. I have had to lube (oil) the pivot point.
