Bryan/College Station, TX at RV Source. They are a Thor dealership (among other brands) and so much better than that other company.

37KT batteries

A question for the 37KT owners...

It looks like were closing on a deal to oick up outer 37KT this weekend. I see it comes with 2 6v batteries from the factory, our current rig has 4 6v batteries. My conundrum is whether to swap the 2 factory batteries for mine (only 6 months old Trojans) or throw in a deep cycle 12v battery for the trade. BUT, is there room for 6 6v batteries without a major rewire on the 37KT

Thanks.

Hi
Wife and I are now owners of a pre owned 2017 Challenger 37 TB ! It had 5,045 miles, and still smelled new. It did have damage to the Wet Bay door, which the Dealership was in the process of replacing( door ordered).
We traded our Truck and 5th Wheel on the way from Western NC to Paducah KY for the International Quilt Show. We left the Dealership heading on to KY, about an hour and a half out, heard a loud noise out the left side, I looked in the mirror and see what I thought was the battery compartment door flapping in the breeze! I was coming up on a exit, so I took it and there was a Home Depot there. What had happened was the door skin had separated and folded back ! Upon further inspection I found the door skin is held in place by Double Stick Tape and a thin bead of some sort of adhesive. My wife bought stainless self drilling sheet metal screws, and I bent the panel back in place, and secured it with the screws.
I have posted this in a couple of places already on irv2, and Facebook, but want all coach owners to check your cargo/utility bay doors for signs of Debonding. One owner I have been in contact with had 9 doors with loose door Skins, that had to be reattached with a stronger bond.
Please check your doors ! ! !
We love our First Class A, Love the floor plan, it's perfect for our family.
Looking at a Good Sam Warranty, any suggestions for other plans ?Attachment 200877Attachment 200878

Got a call today from THOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, SEEMS WERE ON OUR OWN TO CALL THEIR VENDOR MISHAWAKA SHEET METAL, who makes the doors for THOR !

Thanks

If your hotspot has antenna ports that is the cheapest and easiest way to increase range and speed. I have had great results with this Netgear MIMO https://www.amazon.com/Netgear-60004.../dp/B00DN3J03O.

For Netflix you have so many options, but if you are an Amazon Prime Member get a Fire TV stick. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-T...70_&dpSrc=srch

I have a 2017 Challenger 37LX. It was new but had been on the lot about a year when we bought it. I replaced the two 6v batteries with four Trojan 6vs.

No, there is not space enough for more than the four. I dont see an easy way to make room. The hydraulics for the levelers shares that compartment.

I don't think the battery tray has room for four batteries.

Yes there's definately room for 4 golf cart batterys.
Im not sure if the trogans are much bigger. I think they are taller, but there is tons of room up.

As for adding more. I put a board over the top of my crossmembers/frame rails. Just above and pastthe existing batterys. I was able to fit 4 more golf cart batterys there. I could probably fit 8 but it would be really tight. It cost less than 100 bucks and took me a coupple of hours to build.

Awesome, Any chance of a pic or two?

Why do you need so many batteries? We only have the original two batteries. Just curious.

Dry camping without having to run the genny. Also allows for larger amp draws without exceeding the discharge rate for the given battery.

I have four Crown CR235s. Im told theyre comparable to Trojans. I have been very happy with their performance, and they fit just fine in the existing tray.

PattyP 05-11-2018 06:50 AM

Okay, we have never dry camped. We have stayed a night in a Flying J truck-stop but we used the generator.

Only original two for us too, but we don't dry camp. We barely need the two, ha ha.
