Is the Banks Power Pack system worth the price tag and does it really put out noticable improvements? I would love to hear back from real people who have installed the whole system, ie. power pack, transcommand and the ottomind programmer or even people who have done just the Stinger without the programming! Thanx, Scott

Hi Scott, you didn't mention the year model of your coach. Since you posted on the Ford forum I presume it's on the F53 chassis. I have a 2000 with the 310HP engine. Two years ago I bought the Banks system with the Transcommand, but not the Ottomind chip. The only reason I bought the system, I was able to get it with the TC unit for $1,150. My cost for installation was $797. Performance wise it wouldn't jerk your socks off but I did notice slightly more power when pullng grades. In my case, there was no increase in fuel mileage, which I didn't expect. Before spending that much money for the system I would suggest you check with Brazel's RV Performance and consider replacing the chip in your ECM. If you have a 99 model with the 275hp engine you probably would realize a noticable change in power. If you have an older coach using the 460 v8, Folks I've met with the Banks system on the v8 said they found it made a big difference in power and their engine ran cooler.

Hope this information helps some.

Good luck, Jim

Jim, Thank you for writing back to me and giving me your opinion on the Banks system. I apoplogize for not specifying the make and model, I thought the web site did that. I have a 2005 National seabreeze 32 ft class A with the F-53 20500 gvwr. 310HP. So you think that you get more bang for your buck with the chip from Brazel's?

Hi Scott, hey no problem, sometime you may want to include your signature like I did showing the year and make of your coach. Regarding the more bang for the buck, with Brazel's performance chip, there's some forum members who have installed the chip, hopefully they'll chime in and give you their evaluation on it. If I recall the chip runs somewhere around $685 or $785 for the Ford ECM. I don't have one on mine yet but sometime down the road I'm seriously considering it. Had it been available when I found the deal on the Banks, I probably would have gotten the chip. As you can see by my signature my coach is 37'8" and with the tags is rated at 22,000 gvwr so you can see I need all the help I can get--LOL. Here's Bazel's site address: https://www.brazelsrv.com/

You might want to give Mike a call and they will answer any questions you may have on the chip. They're really nice folks and I met Mike down in Quartzsite January of this year.

Let us know how you make out, and best of luck,

Jim
