The other night at the campground my friend was asking me about TPMS, he has been looking into them.
His question involved the steel braided valve stem extensions and if they needed replaced, Rich heard that they are not designed to hold the pressure. Do we need to replace the steel braided extensions and if so where can we get replacement extensions.

I don't think the issue is pressure as much as centrafugal force. The sensors don't weigh much but centrafugal force will try to force them away from the center of rotation.

That's why they're not recommended for use with rubber valve stems.

With that said: If the braided lines are secured properly and don't move around there shouldn't be any problem.

Have used the sensors for 4 years on braided extensions. As long as the extension is properly secured you won't have an issue. The sensors are so light it doesn't take much to hold them in place.

sounds good!

I used the braided extensions for my TPMS for about 3 years. Last year I finally went to the dually valve stems and they are much better in my opinion.
