caution Brooklynite handle with care!

I'm a rookie . I'm stuck in a nursing home because Iwas taking the diabetes drug Advandia and it and it caused a blood clot to form in my brain, an ischemic stroke. That was Christmas eve 2010. I've been in so-called rehab centers ever since. Basically they're just people warehouses. They give you however many weeks of rehab medicare and Medicaid will pay for then dump you in a room with up to four people and feed you, charge you or make sure your cclean at least three times a day. They'll even feed you three times a day and maybe allow you a snack once in awhile. But kiss you freedom and your tastebuds goodby.
I've applied to several apartments and assisted living facilities. But haven't been accepted by any so I've come up with a plan. By mom's estate is in surrogate court. The first distrribution will be for ten k. Plus I get 2k from SSI disability and Im waiting for my veteran's benifits too. I'm looking at several Georgie boy Pursuits for ten to fifteen grand. That way I have no mortgage or rent to pay and can live almost anywhere. Best of all I can leave the useless NY rehabilitation hospice system and get real therapy at the local VA hospital.

I'm looking at a couple of GB Pursuits in California for about $13, 000. I plan to fly out to San Diego or Sacramento. Buy one and d trerive it bsck to NY

It's about 2, 900 miles so I figure I'll take abouy five or sic dayd to get back at at least 500 miles per day. I've drive long distance before . Grand Forks, ND to nyc and back a month later. Denver to nyc. Denver to San Francisco to Seattle, Wa. to Grand Forks, ND to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The runs were done with a 1968 chevy nomad wagon. My pa rtner snd I slept on the bench sests. The ND trips were done in about ten to twelve hours with a 1973 Road runner with a 440magnum engine and an 1150 carter thermoquad carburetor. Being able to cruise st 125 miles an hour really cuts down on driving time but 5mpg will eat cash. Good thing gss was .35 a gallon in 1974.

Good luck with your plan. I imagine a MH bought for $13,000 will be somewhat used. It will probably need some repairs to bring it up to par. If the tires are older than 6 years, they will have to be replaced or you risk a blowout on a 2900 mile trip. Please be careful and check out how road ready the MH is before you attempt a long trip home.

One of the first things I plan to buy is new yires. The second t hing is new brakes and third is a Banks power system. Forth is about $2000 worth of lithium batteries at $200.forr 100ah and of course solar systems.
the little stuff for thevwaste systems. Yhen later a tankless water heater and aibags for the ride. I'm also researching sway bars for the front and rear. With $2700 per month income plus food stamps and whatever the VA gives us we should be more than okay. Comments or advise?

Just got a settlement check for $3900. butI didnt and get my SSDisability check thru direct deposit. Anyone else no get their check?

My ? is why fly from Brooklyn to California to buy a used MH? I would think that U could buy one closer to home, & not take the chance for
a 2900 mile trip with an unknown unit. U have a choice of 1000's of them that are on the market. JMHO. Eddie Elk.

I found a '94pursuit with very low miles. I've got $3900.for it but didn't get my $2k disability check fromSSI because of the government shutdown they mailed a check to the center who of course kept it. So tommorow I'm going down to thee bookkeeping office to get my fifty dollar allowance or at least twenty dollars of it in singles for the soda machine. Diet Coke is my one vice. And the krill oil I take I don't have to worry about sodium content.

What I'm hoping for is that the shutdown ends this month and I get my $2k back. So I can buy the GB rv.
