I'm a newbe

Hello everyone, I am a real newbe to rv world. I bought a 2008 26' Winnebago chalet last October. Got it home and a friend of mine helped me winterize it. Will be getting it out soon. What are some of the first things I need to do before going on a trip.

Welcome Trooper Bear. This is a great place to gather information. Be sure to check out all the forums especially the owners Forums for your particular RV's manufacturer.

Be sure to prepare checklists for setting up and breaking down camp. You can find these types of checklists on the Internet, just do a search. Also if you have the opportunity before leaving on your first camping experience, practice backing your rig up.

Also don't forget the "necessaries." Drinking water hose, electric dogbones, sewer hose and connections and most important your favorite beer. Best of luck.

Happy RV'ing

Tire pressure and all of the fluids of course. After that the check list is your best friend.

Hi Guys, Just made the jump from a Fleetwood Bounder (gas) to a 2001 Monico Diplomat. Wow, what a pleasant suprise! We used our old motorhome to haul our race car (57 Chevy) to the drag strip most weekends during the summer. With the inclosed trailer, car, golf cart and other race equipment, it was a struggle with the Bounder. Can't believe how much more power and how smooth a ride the Diplomat gives us. Also looking forward to using this coach to do more traveling outside the racing venue. Happy to have found this site. Great insightes for us as this is our first diesel.

Trooper the best thing you can do to prepare your MH is to spend a weekend in your driveway with it. You'll quickly learn everything that's important for being a happy camper. Second write in all down in a book that you can refer to later. You'd be surprised how quickkly you forget some things.

:welcome:

Hi hot rod Ray welcome to irv2.
Its best to start your own new thread and you will not be lost in someone else's.
You can also go to the Monaco forum for answers for your coach problems.
Good luck and safe travels with your new coach.

TonyDi is right. Write it down. You will be going along, happy as a lark, when suddenly BAM, you are infected with "CRS". Don't know how you get it, but it creeps up on you. sigh !!!
