2005 Fleetwood Expedition 38N - propane detector beeping

Trying to determine the cause for my propane detector beeping once about avery 15 seconds. The batteries are fully charged.

I suspect you have turned the propane off at the tank and aired the coach out? Maybe buy or borrow another detector to check? Is it hardwired to the coach, 12v? Maybe the sensor ports are plugged up with dust? Or, it might just be faulty? Or old batteries still?

What model is your propane detector? Ours (Safe-T-Alert) says it must be replaced every 5 years, and the "beeping at intervals" is the end-of-life signal to replace it.

Is the propane tank close to empty?
If the tank is close to empty, there'll be a slight propane "smell" in the coach. Propane is heavier than air, so the propane will sit on the floor, so the detector will smell it first.

Replace every 5 years the LP & CO detectors.
You are past due for both.

The detectors will have replace 60 months after putting in service on them.

Many hard-wired detectors still have a battery backup. If the backup battery is weak, the detector will beep. Drove me nuts until I figured out what it was.

AND...as a side note...

Smoke detectors expire every 10yrs...including the ones in your home.
I'm amazed every year when all the media/news outlets tell everyone to change their batteries, but they always fail to mention that if the unit is 10yrs old or more, replace the whole unit.

I just replaced all the smoke detectors in the house after 9 years and I also replaced the detector in the RV. The smokes are not that expensive compared to our lives.
