AC Service Port

The dash AC on my 2007 Sportscoach on the XC Chassis quit working. It was working in the fall so I feel sure it must have gotten low on refrigerant. Where is the access port located so that I can try and recharge this? I found a port in the front under the hood, but it's larger than the connector on my recharge kit.

I had AC issues on my coach and wrongly assumed it was a Freightliner Issue. I found out Freightliner supplies the compressor on the engine only and the rest of the system is installed by the coach manufacturer. My port is under the front hatch, but you may have better luck determining the exact location by posting in your Coach Forum.

Thanks. I found a port right above the generator in the front, but it was larger than most I've seen.

I have a situation where in the 'normal' position the AC blows just slightly cooler air than ambient. In 'max' position cooling is ok. The AC has been looked at twice now and other than Freon recharge and a leaky fill port, nothing out of the ordinary has been found.

I found the port on mine, it was "hidden" at the top of my generator compartment. I hit it with a can of recharge and found it was a tad bit low. My AC works perfectly now.

Word to the wise, Due to all the different types of refrigerants being used today, the mfgrs. Use different connector ports for the different refrigerants. With the use of blended refrigerants, it is really best to locate the leak and weigh in the charge as labeled on the system data plate.
