Headlights go off then on then off
The daytime running lights/headlights went out on me the other day. Called Newmar who put me through to Spartan. I thought it was the Smart wheel decoder in compartment under drivers seat. The tech indicated it may be the headlight relay module, but I cannot find it anywhere. The headlights stay on for about 4 minutes, then off. After shutting down the coach for a few minutes a clicking noise is heard in the compartment and the headlights go on again for about 4 minutes and then off again. I cannot determine where the clicking noise is coming from, but it seems like it is the smart wheel decoder. The smart wheel decoder was manufactured in August 2007 and I have had issues with it and the wiper/cruise control switches in the past. The tech really leaned to replacing the headlight module first since, but I need to find it. Does anyone know where it could be?
Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

I would not think the decoder is the issue (But could be wrong)

The clicking noise is likely the relay,,or at least A relay.

We had a problem with our headlights intermittently turning off and coming back on which got progressively worse on a trip (we had to stop driving at night) until they were flashing on the daytime running lights (working off the low beam lights) in the daytime too.

turned out to be a blade circuit breaker...found on our coach on the front driver's side compartment. {BUSSMANN CB21220 (CB212-20) Blade Circuit Breaker or BUSSMANN CB21120 (CB211-20) Blade Circuit Breaker} under $2 ea...I don't recall which one was used. One resets itself and one doesn't. I think he used the non-reset one to verify the problem, then installed the resetting one.

why not call back and ask them. They should have the drawing of where items were placed.

We had the same problem and it turned out to be a loose ground to the frame on one of those hose bundle brackets. Tightened it down and the problem stopped.

It was a frame ground under the front of the coach between the front wheels.

We had the exact same issue in our 08 Mountain Air. Replaced the 20 amp auto resetting fuse marked "HDLamp" in the front fuse box area. Napa Auto Parts had the fuse in stock behind the counter. If I remember correctly, it costs about $12.00.

Yep, found the fuse. It was marked HDLP which I assume to mean headlamp... And yes it is a blade auto resetting fuse. It got extremely hot just before it triggered. Replace this and all is working great now. I have extras in case it happens again of course. Thanks to everyone for their help, it is appreciated. IRV2 is a great place to find answers and to help others. All the best.
