Dometec Fridge
My fridge is warm but the freezer is very cold. I am on gas. What is the climate control switch used for??

My understanding it that when "on", the climate control switch adds heat to the door seal to reduce condensation in humid climates. It could possibly be malfunctioning and staying on all the time and introducing excess heat to the refrigerator. Try switching it off and see if the condition improves. If you're in Indio or Quartzite it is unlikely you'll experience humidity. Sometimes it happens in the summer.
It also takes up to 24 hours for the refrigerator to get cold. Freezer cools first. Ours seems to get cold in less time on propane than electric. |
It your RV refer is like a residential refer, there is only one condenser (in the freezer) with an opening from the freezer into the refer. There is a valve (flapper) that allows the cold air from the freezer into the refer portion. This valve is thermostatically controller. If you get too much humidity into the freezer portion that flapper can freeze up, and that is normally in a position that does not deliver sufficient cold to get the refer side cold. Find the valve and warm it up with a hair dryer, once it is freed up you will be fine.
