Fleetwood Southwind 34N fuel gauge stuck
Our fuel gauge is stuck at 3/4 tank whether its full or almost empty.. Do you think it is the gauge or possibly the sending unit..

Most likely the sending unit. Neither unit is easy to replace.
If you can get to the wires that go to the sending unit on the fuel tank you can strip some insulation from them and touch them together. If the guage responds it is the sending unit. |
What year is your Southwind? I assume its a F53 chassis.
This diagram is a 2001 F53, yours may be identical.. If you have an ohmmeter, you can unplug the instrument cluster and check the resistance between pin 10 (Yellow/White wire) and ground. If you have a variable resistor (or an old sender), you could even connect it and see if the gage responds. https://2001mirada.com/DOWNLOAD/E1I06004.pdf As for the sender. I changed my fuel pump last summer, This is how I did it (with photos): F53 Replace Fuel Pump – 1999 Southwind 35S .. |
