Replacing carpet in '16 Bounder bedroom
 

I am wanting to change/get rid of the carpet in the bedroom area of our coach. Before starting the project, I thought I'd ask those who may have done so, has it been necessary to use quarter round or some type of wall/floor transition? Any tips are welcome as to area(s) of 'concern'. TIA

I replaced the carpet in mine with tile. I did not use 1/4 round but did use caulk. I did have to try and get closer with the cuts. I was using tile so it was doable.
If replacing with carpet you should be able to remove the existing carpet as one piece and then cut to the exact size.
Oh, and DO expect more then needed staple to remove the existing carpet. I wish they built the rest of the rig the same integrity as expecting that carpet to NEVER move. Hundreds if not a thousand staples in that small area of the BR. Crazy!!!

A couple of hours to remove carpet and 200 staples. (2-3hrs)
Lots of hours sanding the glue and prepping the floor (6-8hrs). Yes we used an electric sander.
Next, did most of the floor planks without the cuts. (1 hr.)
Did all the trims and cuts, up to the edges of the walls and bed. (3-4 hrs)
Grout the whole floor to hold everything in place and fill small gaps between the planks (1-2 hrs)
Wood edging installed around the room and bed. (2-3 hrs)
Cut, fit, screw metal transitions between the kitchen / bedroom and bathroom / bedroom (1 hr)

total cost about $100
total about 3 working days to complete.

Thank you for your responses, it sure was reassuring that no surprises would be seen. We ended up doing the deed today, replaced the carpet with vinyl wood plank slats, the install went so smooth I am really surprised/glad. It took only 2 boxes and luckily my son had the tools with which the cuts were made more easy. We are very happy to have the carpet gone as it was showing it's wear fast. Thanks again for your responses that helped make this project a NO SURPRISE project.

Thanks for the caulk idea. We made some 'exact' cuts and did the caulk as well. Job turned out much better than I anticipated. Thoroughly and totally satisfied.
