Bounder Diesel Front Wheel Hubs
I have a 2008 Fleetwood Bounder Diesel 38v and I am getting ready to replace a front inner wheel seal that is leaking. FCC provided verbal instructions and nothing seemed out of the usual. The hardest part is going to be dealing with the torque and larger size nuts. They couldn't tell me the size of the Axel nuts the inner and outer wheel hubs nuts. I would like to have all tools and parts on hand before tear down, does any one know what sizes these are or can you direct me to a source?
Take it to a Big Truck dealer, you won't be sorry. they will remove the wheel ,hub and all in one unit and check the bearings and replace the seal. it shouldn't take more than an hours labor. it will take you all day
If drum brakes, leave the tire on the hub and take the whole thing off as one piece.
A smooth sheet of steel and some gear oil under the tire, lifted 1/2", will let it easily slide off the axle hub. Remember to back off the slack adjusters.
Disk brakes require the tire to be removed, to take the caliper off.
As far as socket size, see if your local auto parts lends/rents the axle nut kit for large trucks.
