Towing a new Volkswagen Beetle?

Anyone flat towing a 2019 or later Volkswagen Beetle behind their motorhome?

We have one but were told it couldn't be flat towed and I wouldn't want to ruin the front with brackets. We use a tow dolly to tow ours and it works just fine. We have a Fleetwood car-tow and the only issue is you need to make sure the hitch is high enough and the front end of the tow dolly is up high enough so that the car clears the ramps since the Beetle has a small wheel base.

NOPE>........
Must be towed on tow dolly

Check towing requirements in Owners Manual

I have an older (2007) New Beetle toad. It is the standard 5 speed. I have over 7,000 miles towing 4 down behind my RV with no issues. It also tows great. There are many folks towing New Beetles 4 down (standards, not automatics) with no issues.

I questioned my trusted VW mechanic extensively before buying and he said there is no mechanical reasons why a manual transmission canít be towed 4 down. I didnít ask about the new 6 speed manuals. Automatic New Beetles canít be towed 4 down but there is no reason why they couldnít be dolly towed if you need to go that route.
