A few help issues for the new folks - Solar and Fresh Tank Heat Pad

Folks - I've use the search function both on the forum as well as Dr. Google and can't find a darn thing on a few topics.

12V solar - I was on the roof last weekend and stumbled onto a small solar panel. The previous owner had said there was not solar, so i figured we'd do an upgrade/install at some point down the road. I checked the brochure and find a listing for a standard feature Eco-friendly Battery Saving Roof Mounted Solar Panel. Is there a switch that I should look for?

12v heat panel - fresh tank. As the temperature starts to drop, our thoughts move toward winter camping and/or winterizing. There is evidently a 12v heat pad on the fresh tank. I haven't seen a switch for that. Does anyone know more about this?

Many thanks,

Welcome to the ORV world.

There should be two switches on your control panel that turn the tank and solar on and off. They should be marked as such.

The tank heater will activate when the temp gets to around 38-40 degrees if the switch is on. It is a 12 volt heater. Basically a flat sheet installed under the tank.

The solar panel will keep your battery charged if the disconnect switch is off or on. It only puts out about .5 amps at most in full sun. It is fused behind a panel in the storage bay with the other landing gear fuses and things are.

Zamp no longer makes the solar panel. ORV installs another 100 watt panel now.
