I have a camp chef 2 burner explorer cooking system with a cast iron griddle and grill. Works awesome and burners can be adjusted easily for elevation changes, very versatile and has built in legs. I often use it with a dutch oven and just leave off the griddle or grill. The drawback is it is bulkier, heavier and more expensive than the blackstones and napoleans but more versatile, more consistent heat and much better made. I have had both and really wanted to like them but both were returned.

The problem with many of the camping grills is they do not have any protection over the burners and therefore they become clogged with fat in short order, requiring them to be cleaned out which is a tedious and messy job when camping.

I also carry a small weber charcoal grill but may well stop as it cannot be used in a lot of locations through the summer due to fire risk.

I really like the legs as I am not a fan of cooking on a campsite picnic table after seeing too many dubious uses.

We have the 17’ griddle and wouldn’t want anything larger in the Blackstone line of griddles for camping. We leave ours out on the table 24 hours a day camping and have never had any problems with items getting stolen.

We use the 17" camping. I purchased the folding lid for it. Protects it from rain and is great for melting cheese.
