Revcon duke
 
I'm considering buying a 1984 Revcon Duke, its very clean with 47k miles but been in storage for the last 7yers, anything I should be worried about? any body have horror stories I should be aware of?

Tires, batteries, engine and trans seals, (they will dry out after time of in-operation). Check for tell tale signs of rodent, bugs and water damage.

I know nothing about the Revcon in particular, these are items that go across all motorized coaches.

OK, so for starters, if you are not a DIYer with a reasonable amount of mechanical aptitude, this or any older coach is not for you. If you are a DIYer and don't mind digging around for information, then a Revcon could be just the ticket. The Revcon is one of the best built, and by far the best handling coach ever made.

I would go through the front end and look for anything lose - tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings, U-joints - both on the half shafts and the driveshaft. Inspect the bellcranks - see if they rock up and down - I'd probably grease those before I drove it home. non- of these are show stoppers, but all of these factor into the price.



Depending on the part of the country it has been stored in, you may end up with electrical issues. The problem with any vehicle that sits is that it never gets warmed up and dried out, so everything is much more prone to corrosion.
