2nd oil pressure sender and gauge

Has anyone added a second oil pressure sender to the Cummins ISC engine. If so, does anyone know the thread size of the factory oil pressure sender?

Thanks
Epp

It looks like us 1/4" pipe and is real close but is not, something metric!
You can buy a replacement for your ISC on Amazon for $20

I am trying to find a T to add to the engine so I can run the stock sender in addition to an auxiliary sender. I believe it is a straight thread fitting that uses an O-ring to seal, which leads me to believe it’s metric, I just don’t know what size

Have you seen the attached Cummins Service Bulletin (changing sender to a switch)? It has a replacement switch pn 4076930.
It is straight thread with an O-ring but looking at Amazon etc., none of them have the thread size. I would also suspect metric as all the oil switches I worked on were something like 1/4" pipe thread except Jaguar and that was probably 10mm straight if I recall.

You should be able to check on the thread size with Cummins or maybe any auto parts store as those should be univeral products.

OK, I was able to find an adapter to use the existing oil pressure center and add an additional oil pressure center. It looks like the factory sender is a M14x1.5 thread, which apparently is an oddball size, or much harder to find.
I was able to locate a company called “Vibrant Performance” that makes an adapter.
If anyone needs it it is part number 10596
“M14X1.5 female to male extender fitting”

oil pressure sensor for ISL 400

I'm having a similar issue on my 2004 Monaco w/cummins 400 ISL. Computer operated oil pressure is steady at 55 psi (engine running or not, so, it's broke), warning light is on and code says it's the pressure sensor. Bought a new one from cummins, but I am having a problem locating the old one on the engine. Can someone steer me into the right area of the engine. Removed one sensor today that looked like it on the outside, but it wasn't it. Tomorrow, I begin my search again for the oil sensor. It's not where the local diesel mechanics said it was, top of the engine, above the starter, towards the back. Found out from other forums that rvs normally have 2 sensors on diesels, one from cummins and one installed by the rv mfg. My pressure gage in the dash (rv mfg installed) is working fine, but my computer readout on the Aladdin system is not. So, 2 different gauges do exist. According to the other forums, the 2 sending units are on opposite sides of the engine.

Below is the curb side view of the motor from QuickServe showing the oil pressure switch (or sensor) location, #11. At least on mine I can barely see it from below let alone try to replace one. May need to take the starter out of the way.
I've also heard of a second sender but this is the only one that is shown on the Cummins QuickServe site for either side of the engine.

Note, this is the engine as it left Cummins and most likely modified to some extent by the coach builder. On mine the fuel filter is not there, it is moved to the rear of the coach, I assume for easier replacment.

Thanks for the update. I cannot recall how we handled the straight thread adapters.

Read this before purchasing the adapter

Just a quick update on the threaded adapter above that I found and used. What I ran into was the holes drilled and threaded for the 2nd pressure sensor are too close to the block to allow you to install the 2nd pressure sensor. I had to slide back on the adapter and drill and tap a new 1/8th inch NPT hole so that it would move the second pressure sensor further away from the block.

Thanks
Epp
