Great idea. Based on your post I added the hot water in gen compartment to my options list for my upcoming Dutch Star order. Thanks for all the detail. Will start buying all the parts in 6 months.

I think it is standard on the Dutch Star but not sure.

Agreed this works well but don't let it dry before rinsing.

Well, Iím bummed. It turns out thereís no room in mine to duplicate this mod. Back to the drawing board.

Do you open the hood to turn the water on or do you leave it on?

I leave it on.

Rolling back from up north today and hit some bugs stopped for lunch and rinsed them off works like a charm.

That's pretty neat. I'm not clear on how and where you tapped into the hot water source. Can you provide that detail?

Thanks!

I like the idea of making something that fixes a problem.

Did you see this note on your link to the hose reel?

"Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

The hot water spigot evidently is an option that my dealer ordered when specking out my coach for the lot.

Mine is a Dealer spec unit and I am grateful for the options they chose without my input, I wouldn't have it any other way, it hits all the buttons I was looking for.

But anyone can run a line up front tied in to the hot water line.

There is a shut off in the compartment for that line for winter use.

Nice idea and nice job on the install. Going to take a look inside on ours and see if doable as well.

Yeah, If it does I REALLY like that idea! Thanks for sharing!

Hi TriMoot

Well, did your 05 Essex have the hot water spout?
We had a 04 Essex and I do not remember seeing one. We will be getting another Essex around a 2010 year model in a few months and hope it will have one. Would like to put this on it for De-Bugging.

Thanks Vickie 4369 for sharing this AWESOME idea! :thumb:

We had an 04 Essex and I cannot recall ever seeing a hot water tap up front.

We will be looking for our next coach in a few months (most likely another Essex) to go full time, and will for certain be on the look out for the spigot. Would like to add this to our next one.

Always do the Debugging thing at fill ups or as soon as we hit our EOD drive.

Ha! Did I look? R u kidding?! All Iíve been looking at for the last 2500 miles is the road and my gauges! LoL!

But yesterday we just pulled into our summer spot and once we get the inside cleaned up and moved into, Iíll take a peek up front.

Home sweet home (at least until the fall and then itís off to Florida)
