Stop Engine light
 
Coach has been parked for several weeks. Started up and a "Stop Eng" light came on. Everything else looked fine (oil, temp, etc). 2008 Allure, Cummins 425 ISL.

I have had issues with my gages - both the needles and the lights. Sometimes the needles for air go dead, then come back on. Same thing with fuel, oil pressure, and their not the same gage. With the lights, they've all light up and then started going on and off in a circle (tried to upload a video, but couldn't do it).

Anyway, I drove it a little cause I kind think its a gage issue, but don't know. Anyone know what that warning light is warning? Thoughts??

Check your fluid levels since you have ran it for awhile. But...you need to get your gauges fixed.

The engine should set a code if itís a true engine sensor fault. My 2007 Allure 400ISL has a barrel key and ability to pull ECM codes through the check engine light. If no codes then I would think itís also part of the gauge issue.

Regarding gauge issue - do check behind instrument panel for loose/corroded connections - including ground connections. There may be a schematic in your drawings package. I have one for my 2007.

We'll, it's a gauge issue. Was off the next day and since.

If anyone knows a way to figure out the gauges, let me know. I have no idea. A LOT of wires in the dash.

Look for a lose ground or better yet, install a dedicated one.

A stop engine light is a serious deal, the ECU has detected an issue will put engine into limp mode. Ignore it, will be getting towed. The fact you had no engine performance change, the light is most likely the issue.

Well, I get the ground suggestion, But I'm telling you that it is such a mass of wires behind there that you can't tell which goes to what, and with the issue being intermittent, a repair shop could spend HOURS and have a hard time getting it to repeat - and would likely have to be on the road.

Interfacing between the Cummins engine and the dash lights is possible and possibly difficult.

Interfacing with a Cummings engine, No help with that.

I second what Brian said about checking the grounds etc behind the dash. After a few trips out in my new to me Allure, I had an ignition problem (dead key, no power) that turned out to be a loose wire on the ignition switch. Then, a few washers and nuts would end up on the floor near my feet at times, after long trips.
Got into the back of the dash one day and tightened everything up, and no more issues. A lot of things had loosened up over the 16 years of age and simply needed re-tightening. Hope you can find your gremlin and it's a simple fix

You might consider a Silverleaf VMSpc. You can duplicate gages and warnings, and read some error messages on a pc, or tablet, it will also give you some information that you do not currently have.
Just a thought.
