Slides out first - air only leveling system

For those of us who have air leveling only, do you level first then put out slides or vice versa? How about retracting the slides?

The manual on my '09 42FKQ is very clear: leave coach in travel height, then extend slides, then level. However, nothing is said about retracting slides. I would assume the reverse is true: retract slides, then go to travel height.

My engineering background says this is wrong, it just makes more sense to have a level and stable platform for both slides out and slides in. However, I will do what the builder says, but I am curious what others do/think.

I would go with the manual. There might be and very possibly be structural design criteria (not disclosed) for the recommended order.

What Monaco says is Park in your spot and extend the slides then level the coach, to leave you start the coach get to travel height and retract the slides. A lot of folks dont worry about when they put the slides out or in with air leveling, but I always follow monaco's suggested procedure and for sure with jacks.
