Def problems on toad vehicle
We are new to the game but enjoying our class a. We are towing a 2011 Chevy 2500(diesel with def). We bought our coach last august and towed our pickup a couple thousand miles over six months without any issues. We recently left Oregon on an annual trip to visit family in Iowa, Oklahoma, and Alabama.(about 6000 miles). After traveling about 1500 miles we drove the toad into town(20 miles). We had the engine light come on and the def light as well. The engine code was p2069 having to do with the fuel pump and the accuracy of the gas gauge. We limited our driving the truck until we reached Oklahoma. We took it to a shop and they tested the system and said we had a faulty heater in the def tank. I inquired about driving the vehicle and they indicated it would not hurt to drive it but get repaired before cold weather. We drove the truck about 1000 miles before the lights came on again. This time we received a warning that max speed would be 55 mph (would continue dropping speed until it reached 5 mph and then zero.
Question. It appears that the system is tracking mileage between regens even though the ignition is off and no mileage is being registered on the vehicle. Has anyone had this problem?

I donít think itís tracking mileage, but merely tracking engine restarts. On our diesel class A, I had read that when a problem starts, and one wishes to try to get to a destination before derate happens, to NOT shut the engine down at fuel stops, etc as each start cycle is being counted.
