Low Power> No Boost> Pressure Sensor
When I lost power going thru Oklahoma City and Good-ole' Silverleaf showed no Turbo Boost Pressure I assumed that an elbow, clamp or hose had blown off (like others have described in earlier posts).. I limped into Cummins in OK City and everything appeared to be connected. Silverleaf and the shop's computer showed no failure codes. To confuse the issue; boost pressure returned and then failed again. The problem was a bad Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor. When it fails, it doesn't cause an error message to be generated; but instaed it commands the engine into a "limp mode". This would also happen if it sensed no pressure. I thought I would share this with you and pass on that Cummins-Southern Plains in Oklahoma City were very friendly, competent, and accommodating. Repairs were done under warranty which were less than a month from expiring.

Matt- where is that sensor located & what does it look like? # of wires to it? Thanks for the post.

The sensor is connected to a 3 wire plug and is located on top of the in-take manifold adjacent to the connection for the CAC output pipe near the top of the engine on the curb side. It is the brass thing near the center of the 2 engine photos.

Thanks for the Info Matt, I was told by some diseil Mech. it could be a sensor or Elbow connector. I will advise the Cummins folks to check tks
