We are on our maiden voyage with our 321RES and so far so good! We are currently parked at Periwinkle Park Campground on Sanibel Island and loving our new rig! The weather hasn't been the greatest so we have been hanging out inside for some of the day and being very comfortable. Still trying to figure out where everything is in this thing but will definitely get used to it very quickly. I am always on the lookout for the aforementioned problems but have not had anything so far. The DW loves this trailer and its comfort. Will report more after we get back. Happy Labor Day weekend to all!!!

Glad to hear you made it through the storm okay. We've still got some more rain coming our way. Might want to get that looked at soon, if anything just to make sure the seals are working properly. Driving down the highway in a downpour can put just as much stress on the seals as a tropical storm.

Hey majorloser, did you order your 321RES yet? That would make 3 of these units in Brevard county - my friends have one too! We will be at Longpoint the weekend of October 22nd if you want to check them out.

Looking at the aluminum rims on my 321res the other day I noticed something peculiar. They appear to have some sort of clear plastic coating on them. However, the coating has pealed/cracked off in many places. Does anyone know what’s going on here? Is this coating supposed to come off? Is it some type of protection used during shipping?

I will try to post a photo.

Will check ours if the rain ever stops Jim. Never noticed it before and if it was from shipping film, I didn't take it off. By the way, got our issues all resolved. One more trip on the season. Still love the trailer despite the setbacks....

That doesn't look like shipping film to me. Looks like the clearcoat is peeling off. I would check with your dealer on that one. Thanks for the heads up. Will keep an eye on ours.

Additional area to watch on our 321RES'

Hi,
We have had our 321 RES since May and have used it about a month this year. We have had many of the issues listed above and will have them fixed this winter.
An additional area no one has mentioned is the cables. Our lower aft cable on the kitchen slide was frayed on delivery. The dealer replaced that one. It has since frayed again and has worn a new track in the camper wall. No issue with the new hole, however it appears the cable is not mounted to line up with the designed hole in the camper wall. I would recommend frequently checking the cables and keep them serviced.
Happy camping! :thumb:

Hi there...new member and thanks for all the info. Will check the cable...just another thing to watch for. We have a new cougar 321res and love it. Have a few issues, water leak on the dining room side. carpet all wet, couch wet...have it in the shop for repair. Also had problem with the auto stabilizers. All of a sudden the switches stop working. I received a note from Keystone to check the inline fuse off the positive battery cable. will have the dealer check it out.

Here is a question someone may have figured out -

We use RoadWing mud flaps yet we are still taking hits on the fiberglass front. Given the contour, this would be hard to do in diamond plate - has someone figured out a way to minimize the damage? My flaps run 1/4 to a 1/2" above the ground, cannot get them any closer and we have not traveled on any gravel roads. Several road construction areas were graveled, which one cannot avoid.

Thanks again -
Dan

Haven't had that problem Dan. We have very short flaps, our truck is really tall, and we've been on some really bad roads. Maybe I just haven't taken a close enough look. Was planning on washing the trailer today. Will see if we are in the same boat, but like I said, I haven't noticed anything yet....

Well our maiden voyage with the Cougar was awesome at Sanibel Island! Everything on the trailer is working great...so far - I'm always waiting for the "shoe to fall" so to speak. I actually talked the wife into going again this weekend. Our daughters birthday is this weekend and she wanted to go and visit her for the weekend. I said, "hey let's take the trailer and stay at Welcome to Williston Crossings RV Resort Home Page, North Florida's Premier RV Campground." So 2 weekends in a row in the Cougar!

Good deal Jim. Glad everything is going well for you!!!

Turtle, the leak I can't help with, but the stab jacks could be the same as an issue I had with my slides. All the connections were very bad behind the control panel in the hall. Very shoddy wiring connections that the dealer had to redo. Could be the same with your stab jacks. There is a fuse panel up in the pass through storage area like Keystone said that may be where to start....
