I had similar issues. I finally got a car to USB adapter and have had no more problems. Evidently the car chargers from Rand McNally have issues.

I had the same problem with the sink handle leak....

I had the same problem with the sink handle leak. I took the handle off and tightened the faucet valve that had worked loose. That fixed mine.
