Fastcat did you get ABS or PVC for your extension? Has the hydraulic (ATF) fluid attacked the plastic at all? I own a hardware store and haven't been able to find 3/4" threaded ABS pipe or fittings...

I'm assuming that when you add fluid you just add it to the top of the tank not up into the extension.
