I don't know how yours is plumbed but my Dutch Star the water entering Coach all goes through filter first which slows the fill, as do the small brass fittings for 1/2 hose or pex.

I have just rebuilt the wet bay floor area of our Dutch Star, was badly rotted floor and when I removed the water tank it had some blackness inside so I decided to replace the tank while I was at it....
