Power gains aside, from personal experience, I can say that 5 star does help with the shift points of the tranny. For me, that in of itself was worth the purchase.

Oil Level

Might be worth check your oil level. I've found that you have to keep it to the tippy top, otherwise the low oil sensor will turn off the generator.
