We did not buy the unit new.
But the problem is fixed. It was a check valve but the one in the photograph coming off of the hose reel not the one going into the water filter. Happy to have it...

That might be the case but the problem with no water pressure seems to do with a valve or gate (check?) that is early in line well before it gets to water pump. The whole house water filter is not...
