What gear ratio did it have? Many of the manual trannys have 3:31’s. You need to look for 3:73’s or 4:11’s for a much peppier Jeep.

My 2018 33C has a 8k hitch and a 5k tow rating. I looked at a 2021 Bounder 22k chassis recently that had the same 8k hitch. Maybe they install what they get at the time.

Depends on what and / or how often you are towing. I prefer gasssers but if you are towing heavy often then diesel is probably the way to go.
