I pull 9,000 lb with a 2005 Dynasty ISL and will see 45 - 50 in 4th gear on a 6% grade. If you are getting similar speeds maybe ECU signal, i.e., 50% is in error..

If in auto gen start mode and house batteries are fully charged the generator will briefly run and then turn off.
