There’s no dedicated power steering pump like a car. There’s a hydraulic pump that runs off the engine which powers the steering among other things.

The TRW link Crazyknight posted says 40 weight oil is good, but 30 weight isn't approved. I think AW-46 is equivalent of 20 weight oil.
