A 5000 lb hitch is capable of towing 5000 lbs...
A 5000 lb hitch is capable of towing 5000 lbs (horizontal load), not supporting it. They are usually capable of supporting 500 lbs weight (vertical load) So being 4 down does not reduce your weight...
