Your Battery cutoff switch turns the Battery...

Your Battery cutoff switch turns the Battery cutoff solenoid ON and OFF. Make sure that the solenoid is not faulty. It usually is situated in the electrical bay under the driver's side.

Happy to hear that you got the cover to work. I just use the same lubricant as on the slide rails. A silicone based non grease lubricant in a spray can.

The motor is way back under the floor nearly under the driver's seat. I had the same problem. it was not the motor but rather the long threaded rod that pushes the cover in and out needed...
