My guess would be another fuel filter. My cummins has a primary and secondary. Is that a little knob on the bottom of that filter? If so, its probably a filter/water separator. That's my guess.

I had the exact same MH. If I remember correctly there is a wire from the Alt to the chassis batteries to tell it how much to charge. I had to just clean the connections on my Alt to fix that...
