I clean mine a few times a year with a wash/wax combo (Blue Coral) from wally world. It seems to really help with the white streaks and gives me a reason to inspect the roof and the EternaBond tape.

The safe is under my bed in my '96 Exec. My doorbell is wired from the pushbutton to the chime box and if you remove the cover there are 4 C batteries powering the Chimex unit. Hope this helps.
