Roadside assistance for Canada
Hi, we have Progressive roadside assistance, and headed to Canada next year, and wondered what most are using for coverage there? Couldn't find anything online to see if we are covered.....

Hey there! We currently have coachnet. Haven’t had to use it, but we’ve also got CAA’s RV coverage - also haven’t had to use it so can’t comment of effectiveness. The problem here is the big spaces and sparse population. Lol. If you’re coming to Ontario, I’d highly recommend checking out the St Lawrence Parks Commission and staying in one of their campgrounds for a few days. Farran park for sure. It’s a great spot to canoe, kayak, bike. Plus, if you’re divers, you can do some diving at lock 21, which is part of the old seaway system before the St. Lawrence river was flooded to make it bigger. It’s a series of islands made by the flooding that are all connected by causeways and runs for about 12 km. Biking in the causeway is fantastic and it connects to a protected pathway system (paved) that runs for about 100 km. Enjoy your trip!

Check with your Progressive and see if they provide coverage in Canada. The big ones, Coachnet, Good Sam, AAA/CAA provide coverage seamlessly across the border. They all use independent contractors in the area where you need the service.

How does this coverage (at least for AAA/CAA members and different affiliates) work? My local affiliate (BCAA and also neighboring province's AMA) requires 1) a higher-than-basic level of membership and 2) RV coverage.
If I have RV coverage through my local affiliate, is it good for any CAA/AAA affiliate or only those that offer RV assistance?
